Building Progress for the New Learning Center for Delaware

We plan for the New Learning Center to be a LEED certified "Green" building. We would like to enable students to learn about solar, wind and geothermal power generation.

After an extensive search we contracted with GWWO to design the New Learning Center. To date a preliminary design has been developed and estimated. The design has been revised to significantly reduce the cost of the building. We now plan to build in two phases. Phase I will have sufficient space to allow us to operate indefinitely. In time we hope to grow to need Phase II.

The site plan has been developed in conjunction with a new entrance road to Iron Hill Park.

Further design development will be initiated further along in the capital campaign.

The preliminary site plan is available for inspection, review and comment by contacting the Director of the Iron Hill Museum or the President of the Academy.
